So I was kind of disappointed that there was no Daily Trivia for Monday. I love learning new sports trivia so then I can impress all of my guy friends  . Hopefully there will be one for Tuesday!!!

Here's one for you. In 1963, the MVP of the NFL, NL & AL shared the same jersey number. What is the number and who were the players?

No fair looking this up. Answer from memory.

Here's my SWAG, and I'm basing it on the hope that the AL MVP was Carl Yazstremski, my boyhood hero. #8

Still haven't checked Google. Bart Starr, Johnny Bench, Johnny Unitas, Jim Brown, Willie Mays all come to mind from that era.

Didn't Willie Mays and Jim Brown both wear #44?

It's a trick question... There were 2 MVP's awarded in the NFL that year... one from the AP, and one from the UPI. I won't give the answers because I googled it.

Once you get the jersey #, the NFL & NL are pretty easy. The AL is not as obvious. Need another hint?

That number is not right for either. Willie Mays was #24. Bonds wore that number for many years as a tribute to his godfather.

I didn't realize that there were 2 different MVPs in the NFL. The one that fits this question was always more widely recognized as the MVP.

Is it 32... with Sandy Koufax, Jim Brown and some other dude with the AL MVP?

I think Koufax won the NL and World Series MVP in 1963 (thank you Jewish roommate who idolized him).... and the only football numbers I remember during those years are Brown (32), Johnny U. (19) and Joe Namath (12)

HINT: Think about what teams were in the World Series that year. That should give you a good idea of who the NL MVP was. Once you've got that, then you have the number. The number should give you the NFL MVP. The AL one is a little tougher. That's the one you will have to dig deep into the memory banks for.

Well done, Ali. You got the 2 easier ones without the benefit of the Hint that I was typing as you answered.

Cool... I don't have the answer to CATLAX MAN's trivia question. However, YESIAMAGIRL has a good point. Sonny usually sends us Caption Time highlights in General Discussion, so I propose that we take turns giving out the Daily Trivia question. Sonny already did that a few times last week.

I found out that a lot of us really get into the trivia stuff. :)

Google check and Whooohoooo... I finally got one of these trivia questions. WEll at least part... I accidently typed in the other guy in this post and have since edited... so anyone who saw that your eliminated from taking my glory.

Other player is much much harder .... But he also has another pretty good trivia question attached to him.
