Two girls were sued for delivering cookies as a gift to their neighbors.

Anyone else find it ironic that we can now sue people for being nice?

I read this story in the Boston Globe this morning. Unbelievable. I find the girls' actions kind of strange, but regardless, they were doing an act of kindness that you don't see from people their age. That woman is just an old grumpy hag.

the sad part is, they'll never do anything like that again, and neither will their kids or friends.... Don't get me wrong, I love living in the USA, this is a great country, with tons of freedoms, including the right to sue when someone is trying to be nice to you. Why do things like this seem to happen here, but not anywhere else? If it happened in France I'm sure we'd here about it... by the way, anyone ever do google search for French Military Victories (click get lucky, and click the link)...

What do we expect from a legal system that rules in favor of someone who didn't know their coffee would be hot?

Also, that website about French wars was quite humorous.

Just so you all know, 850 KOA the radio station did a fund raiser, and in under and hour raised 2000 dollars more or less to pay for the girls court fees and everything, and the rest will be donated to the "No one Left Behind" Chairity in their names.

This line in the story cracks me up

The Denver Post reported Friday that the girls had decided to stay home and bake the cookies rather than go to a dance where there might be cursing and drinking.

Rediculous. I can't stand people who act like that neighbor. Plus, the neighbor takes them to court to treat them a lesson saying the apologies weren't sincere enough? What?! Are you joking? Society kills me...
