I know those types of people that I have dealt with over the years at the college I work, but it was the first time I saw that term this morning after quickly glancing at my newspaper- Helicopter parents.

I am sure that some of you have experienced dealing with that, and I am wondering if that would apply to parents of lacrosse players.

You can find this term at:

Certainly some of the most annoying people in the world! Let kids be kids. Let 'em walk a couple blocks, even after the street lights have gone on. Let 'em cross a busy street, chances are they'll figure out how to make it alive.
Baby on Board then became Show Dogs On Board. Like in either case my driving like a maniac is going to be influenced by your warning sign. They should add - stay back 200 feet.
I kind of feel sorry for those kids - "my Precious". Chances are they're never going to strap on a lacrosse helmet.

I agree wholeheartedly with your philosophy. Then again with two precocious girls I really don't have much choice! Besides it inspires their spirit and creativity. I have a friend whose wife is a helicopter parent. He's been talking about getting his boys involved in lacrosse. Knowing his wife, he's going to have quite a battle on his hands!!

My favorite spoof of those yellow signs was "mother-in-law in trunk"
... not that I have it on my car--fortunately I got lucky in the mother-in-law department!! :D
