I have heard some mixed reviews on Coldplay, as some don't think it has lived up to their last album. With that said, I haven't listened to any of it so I have no clue. Not normally a fan of their stuff.

A few albums that have come out in the last month that I suggest:

-Fall Out Boy - From Under the Cork Tree
Pop punk band from Chicago, their last album (Take This to Your Grave) is slightly better, but this album is still strong.

-The Starting Line - Based on a True Story
A former pop punk band that is more emo/ballad-like now on this album and this album got 5 out of 5 stars in Alternative Press magazine.

-Gym Class Heroes - The Papercut Chronicles
This band kicks some major butt, indie-rock meets hip-hop. Their lead singer goes from rapping to singing and back between songs. I am a huge fan of this album and have been listening to it non-stop for the last 3 months and happy I stumbled across them. Highly suggest getting this album.

If you like Gym Class Heroes, you may want to listen to Massive Attack. Kind of along the same lines... just more late 90's.

Also forgot, another album which came out today is Finch - Say Hello to Sunshine. I heard two demos a couple months ago and between them not being good plus their last album being so good and taking so much time in between albums, I felt this album was going to suck royally. Well, it is much better than I ever expected and those two demos they put out a couple months ago are much better. Not as good as "What is it to Burn" but still a solid album.

Anybody purchase the new ColdPlay album yet? I have a few more hours before I get off work and I want to hear some early reviews. Thanks.

I have it already. It is a different sound than the previous album, but quite enjoyable. Songs #2 and #4 are so good that I would pay triple the price for only those two.

... of course, those good songs are hindering my ability to adequately explore the rest of the album. Ha.

Does it sound more like Parachutes or A rush of blood to the head? Personally, I can listen to those CDs all the way through and never grow tired of listening to them. Like any CD you purchase, it will have songs on there that outweigh other ones. I will probably buy it after work, but so far, the general consensus (Dan) is that it's good?

Just read an article from Yahoo News that some group had hired experts to decode Coldplay's new album especially the triangular diagrams, the words "X and Y", the rainbow color to make it look pretty etc. I did not include the Yahoo News url address because it is quite too long.

Though I am not big into music, I thought this may be of interest to those who like to listen to Coldplay.

I am still a little indifferent about the new album. The first song, Square One, sounds pretty money, but after that...eh...I'm still a little iffy. I like the speed and sound of Square One, reminds me of Clocks a little. So far, so good though.
