A 35-year-old Boise man accused of throwing a McDonald's hamburger at another motorist during a "road rage" incident on Fairview Avenue on Tuesday night is charged with misdemeanor battery and resisting arrest.

In Boise, burger tossing is met with an immediate tasering. I love Western justice.

A sheriff's deputy, who saw Denham throw a hamburger at the car, asked Denham to stop and calm down, but Denham appeared to get angrier, according to Ada County sheriff's and Boise police reports.

After Denham took off his coat, assumed a "fighting stance" and advanced toward officers, he was hit with the Taser, according to reports.

Although it may simply be throwing food under the bridge...

This strikes me as a relatively simple instance of proper taser use. Your version of burger to taser seems to be the equivalent of reciting the alphabet "A, Z."

Let's also not forget that he was throwing food at another car (after running into it), as well as drunk beyond the legal limit. Neither of these seem to indicate that he was acting rationally or civilly.

Does throwing a burger at a car get you tasered? No. But that's also not what happened in this case.

I apologize if clicking the link and checking your source has resulted in a splintering in the soapbox you chose to stand upon, but if this is "Western Justice," then write my name in the fan book.

pwnd.

(sorry, always wanted to use that one on a message board.)

i do think tasers are usually pretty dumb, and if the cops would just learn a little MMA then they wouldn't ever need 'em.

While bemused by your knee-jerk reaction to my political leanings, I was not being sarcastic. I think the taser was justified and should be used in other public nuisance instances such as, but not limited to:

-drivers who don't use a blinker
-anti-war protesters who block traffic
-lacrosse players with neon-colored shooting strings
-pushy soccer moms
-snowboarders
-any member of the extended Kennedy clan
-students peddling magazines door-to-door
-baseball fans who leave in the fifth inning
-Sam Donaldson

If you add idiots who take forever to order at Wendy's like their menu has changed sometime in the last 17 years, I'd be in complete agreement.
