interesting article on the ongoing fight between the players union and owners, do NFL players really make to much? and how can people with more money than they know what to do with complain about not making an extra 10 million a year?

Balderdash! Our professional athletes are in said position because they spent 20-30+ years not studying, reading or bettering their minds...but by running into things, often head first and/or out in the sun.

To expect anything less our of our ingenious present day gladiators than a Bentley for a 7 year-old, a mansion with more rooms than the athlete can count, or even a diamond crusted goblet exclaiming one's promiscuity would be quite cockamamie, to say the least.

wasn't it spree whose kids had lax sticks in his garage on his episode of cribs?

Don't know if Sprewell did, but I'm almost certain Rasheed Wallace (if it wasn't him, it was another UNC player) had sticks in his garage.

Spree went to Alabama. Figured you SEC guys would know that

This statement is more spot on than you may have intended. While I am with all of you that complaints over $7 million contracts is absurd, there is something to be said about the "modern gladiatorial" aspect of their lives. They sacrifice much of a normal livelihood to exist in the limelight, yes voluntarily, but they do deserve something for that sacrifice correct?

And before everyone attacks the players, we must see the reverse of the coin as well and know that the owners are not exactly blameless in this continuing struggle for money. In the end it is they who are in it to collect millions, if not billions of dollars, by owning these teams. Those who bring in those billions deserve a cut don't they?

Or in the backyard of the guys house in Knocked Up. I believe it makes a debut when they are playing ping pong and talking about when they can get the site up and running, if I'm not mistaken.

You should see the new Nike Sparq avertising campaign. Stay with it until about the middle and then watch the mainstream love flow for the sport of lacrosse:

Don't know how many of you guys watched USD knock off my Zags in the WCC tournament the other day. The game was on ESPN. One of the USD students was wearing his CPX during the game (also had on a USD lacrosse club t-shirt).
