Speaking of a possible trivia subsection on the USLIA message board, I propose that Ethan (a.k.a. KnoxVegas) would be a good candidate to join forces with Sonny to moderate that forum. Simply, Ethan is quite, from my POV, the "King of Trivia Questions."

14. I know Clemente's plane was heading to Nicaragua for a relief effort (earthquake I think). So it was probably carrying clothing & medical supplies. Don't know who else was on it.

13. Incorrect

Are you sure about that? That was the year he stole 104 bases, right?

My error. I meant 1960. Maury Wills was the NL MVPin 1962 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Mea culpa! Mea culpa!

So who was the NL MVP in 1960, his8th year with the Pirates?

Must've been Walter Payton then. Only significant #34 RB that comes to mind.

20. This one I blew also. The number Williams swithced to was #37 to honor a great Texas running back. Ricky had worn #34 previous to the Iowa State game on 3 October 1998, but decided to change his jersey to #37 in honor of his friend, who happened to be....? A sample from this persons bio:
"He was born in Dallas, Texas and attended Highland Park High School in Dallas where he was a multi-sport athlete. Both he and future college and National Football League star Bobby Layne were on the Highland Park football team."

13. INCORRECT. Here is a hint: The man is now in his 26th year as color analyst for University of Pittsburgh radio broadcasts and here he is at Duke.

7. What did did Reggie Jackson play for in 1976?

8. Who was the first player to integrate the AL and with what team?

10. Who was the first black manager, in what year and with what team?

11. What Dodger catcher who was NL MVP in 1951,'53,'55 was paralyzed in a 1958 car accident?

Reggie Jackson Played for Baltimore Orioles in 1976.

Larry Doby was first black player to integrate the American League and played for the Cleveland Indians starting in 1947 (3 months after Jackie Robinson broke in to Dodgers). He was a 7-time All Star and second black manager in baseball with the 1978 White Sox.

The first black manager in baseball I think was Frank Robinson with the Cleveland Indians in 1975.
