$17 million for Owen Hargreaves???? how overrated is he? Ill tell you and ManU will find out after about 5 games next season. boy what a shame. he's was one of the wasted spots for England in the World Cup and now he'll be a waste for ManU. At least Ill get to watch Cesc Fabregas running past him next season. that should be a treat.
Tom Hicks is showing the Champions League Final live on the jumbotron outside the AAC at Victory Plaza on Wed. I'm gonna go. i wanna see Kaka humiliate everyone on the JumboTron.
Brent, Becks is supposed to come back for the Superliga games, which the 7/31 games is at PHP. I dont think those tickets have gone on sale to the public just yet, but expect it to be very difficult to get those tix because that will be the only time that LA is scheduled to come to Dallas post MLS All Star game. Becks rumored to be on holiday until July 20 after the Spanish season.

Everyone said Carrick was overpriced and Manu won the league, made it to the semis of CL, and Finals of FA.
If you actually watched the England games you wouldve seen that OH was one of the few English players who performed consistantly.
It'll be a treat to see Fabregas eating grass all day long.

Filippo Inzaghi scored each of his two goals in the first and second halves of the championship game. From what I read, he sat out in the 2005 Champions League title game also against Liverpool.
AC Milan 2
Liverpool 1
AC Milan is the 2007 Champions League champion.

Stupid Italian teams... Though I almost felt bad for them when I saw the highlights from the 2005 game on how pathetically they crumbled and looked at the end of that game.

MADRID, Spain -- Thierry Henry is leaving Arsenal to sign with Barcelona in one of European soccer's major transfers of the offseason.
Yeah, work has been slow today....

I was the same way when Van Nistelrooy left Man United. I still think I made the right choice by sticking with club, but your circumstances are different, especially if Wenger leaves, because Fabregas said he'd go too if that happened.

From my reading, its starting to look like Henry will be going to Barcelona AFTER this upcoming season in 2008 is finished, so he wont actually suit up for Barcelona until 08-09 season. so he will still have a full year at Arsenal (as the captain still i hope) to cement his legacy.
Also, i hope i wasnt the only watching USA v. Mexico in the Gold Cup final this afternoon. Mexico scored first on a good goal and the US tied it on a well-earned PK. but the USA went up on an awesome goal from Benny F. i was yelling out load in my house when i saw how he hit it and when it went into the net. great goal that will live in infamy. he may never score one like that again.
peace.

Benny Feilhaber's goal was awesome.
Copa America should be interesting with the tough draw and the US not bringing their "A" team. Although it will be some good experience for some newer guys.

Where are you seeing this? From what I've read, he is gone completely.
Yesterday's game was awesome and I felt the U.S. is looking better than when Bruce Arena was in charge. I think what they are doing with bringing the "B" squad to the Copa America is a great idea, mostly because it doesn't matter how we perform in that tourney, (we secured our spot in the Confederations Cup in 2009) and winning in our own region is more helpful to our rankings. Plus this experience will better serve our depth when 2010 rolls around.

Did Sportscenter show that highlight? I read somewhere that it was quite an awesome goal. Dang, I missed that because I forgot to tell my son to record that game!!

Brent, It was #3 on the Top 10 plays yesterday.
Danny,
They arent bringing the best cuz the Gold Cup means more than the Copa America to the USA. There are better teams in South America, but being the CONCACAF champs gives us more ranking points and qualifies us for the Confederations Cup (which is a World Cup warm-up tourney featuring each of the champions from each region).
Most of the roster for the Gold Cup was players from European teams who just finished a long season or from MLS, who are in the middle of their season and would like to help them out. Landon Donovan's team (LA Galaxy) is in last place right now and he cant really afford to miss more games with Beckham coming soon. Also, Bob Bradley wants to stay in good graces with the club coaches by not taking their players away for too long.
thats why the Copa America roster is composed of mostly new National team players and those fighting for future spot. But this is gonna be baptism by fire palying against Argentina, who feature several players who are on the World Best XI team.

jessexy, I was able to catch the repeat of yesterday's game on Fox Soccer. Wow, that was an awesome goal by Benny. You were right that the game would have been 4-1. That Beasley's miss was really easy to score.
