aint exactly Pacman Jones compared to Tom Brady here.....

and where did we get the 1% white running back stat from??? Texas A&M, who is recruiting McGuffie, had 2 white running backs on its roster last year alone. Florida won a National Championship with one too, he just took shotgun snaps as a QB.

Haha yeah I snagged a picture of one of GT's awful RB's. Id take a wind up car over R-Grant anyday..at least half of the time the car will run North-South, at least by accident.

The 1% is more of a "who starts/plays" estimation. I don't consider the 8th string RB the "proof-cracker". Just like there are only a couple black HEAD coaches, there's only a couple HEAD white RBs (somewhere).

Since more and more it seems that head coaches aren't kept around via their results, the same can be said about the players themselves (cough Reggie Ball cough).

Black or White

The kid has skills and will play big time college football somewhere.

He appears to be just an athlete

His line was very good, but he was making a lot of people miss.

Full back was a pretty stout lead blocker as well.

Yeah, but I can't remember a crowd getting more excited than a run by Teebow for 5 yards.

The way Florida fans react to his 5 yard runs would make you believe that he is running for 80 yards and a score everytime he touches the ball.

What size schools are these? (5-A, 6-A, etc).

Is this the largest school-size in Texas? I am not familiar with the strength by size there...but is it safe to assume that this is largest school sizes, and the best? Or no?

to dannyhogan: unfortunately timmy's records are falling already (but the guy who broke them is going to florida anyways!)

5A are the biggest high schools in Texas right now, but let's not get too excited. This was a good highlight video but take into account a couple of important things:

1. EVERY year, and I literally mean EVERY year there are 20 RB highlight videos just like this and even better (and most won't be a star) in Texas alone. I know from personal experience because I played with the Offensive MVP of 2004 who is currently a backup WR at Texas and his highlight video made this look like pop warner.

2. This kid is obviously blazing, but as a lot of people pointed out, he isn't breaking very many tackles (granted he does jump over a lot of cornerbacks that won't be playing at the next level) and his holes are HUGE

I mean obviously there are guys with similar styles (percy harvin isn't exactly running people over and he's doin ok), but there's no point in even watching a high school highlight video, because you just can never tell what will happen at the next level => Xavier Lee for our Seminole fan

In Texas, we have 5 classifications starting with 5A going down to 1A. Each classification is based on, I think, average daily attendance plus the total student population at the high school. For example, I am guessing the cut-off for classifying a high school as a 5A if the total high school student population is above 1,930. If a school ends up with 1,927 students, it would be classified as a 4A. Of course, I am not sure of the exact cut-off figures for each classification. For many years, Waco High School has been a 5A school, but it was dropped to 4A because of its student population went below the 5A level. However, not all sports in Texas would follow the 5A classifications, for instance, football and basketball at the high schools would be classified at 5A, etc.

The athletic programs at those high schools in TX are governed by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). Every two years, UIL would do the reclassification/realignment process to move up or move down high schools based on the 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, and 1A classification cut-off numbers.

I'm sure some guys from TX who are on this message board may chime in to add to what I just said or correct me.

In fact, I have never been to a six-man football game in Texas, but I've heard that it is really fun to watch the running backs dart around the blocks. Last fall, someone gave me the link to watch an Abbott defender really put a major hit on a running back at MaxPreps. That guy really flew high in the air.

anyone who commite to play for the "university" of florida needs to have their head examined.

at least their run of national titles is over.

and for the record-eddie robinson is one of the greatest coaches in the history of louisiana.

side note question: what's with white kids from the suburbs trying to dress/look like they're from the "mean streets"?

I was trying to remember the white cornerback (Jason Sehorn) from the Giants a few years ago and I came across this website.

http://www.castefootball.us/aboutus.asp

I remember Jason Sehorn distinctly talking about how there was a ton of bias against a white player at a "skill" position. There's too many links to post on the subject here..
