Of course if he had competed in both the team and individual events and and failed to win a (gold) medal in one or both, there would be people vilifying him for competing in too many events.

An interesting read about IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) asking someone from Finland to monitor the game after the Swedish coach's suggestion that his team should lose.

Yeah, a friend on mine was in the Corp and did the winter training up in Bridgeport. Now whenever I talk to him about going skiing for the day all he wants to do ir grab the telies and hike three days across the Sierras.

USA Olympic men's hockey team: 1-4-1, no medals and out of the Games.

Wonder how much Chelios will have to pay this time after they trash the Olympic Village.

As impressive as the half-pipe snoboarding was, the ski aerial guys are just nuts! The stuff they do going 50 feet in the air makes snoboarding 1080's look pretty tame.
Also, aren't we doing so much better at sports like hockey and basketball since we started loading up the teams with pros? Very disappointing.

True, but we'd be hard pressed to convince college kids to give up a season of college hockey for olympic glory that has no monetary value (sigh...)
