not sure how much different this is than accomodating dietary requests - fish on friday, kosher prepared meals, etc? Taking off school for Good Friday? (Common on the east coast and midwest - rare on the west coast). Where do you draw the line?

Think of the footbaths this way - less stinky feet on campus! Who could argue with that?

I don't mandate that public institutions serve me fish on Fridays. As a Catholic, if I want a Filet-o-Fish - I head to Mickey D's for an Extra Value Meal. If I'm a Jew, I head down to my local favorite Jewish deli. Why are public funds being used to accommodate one individual religion?

If this is really about cleanliness, then the footbaths can be used for other purposes - right? And be used by non-Muslims, right?

One more step as Western society slides toward Sharia Law. (sigh...)

Sonny- Where are you on Christmas displays and Nativity scenes that are put up by municipalities at court houses and the like?
