If Boise joined the Pac 10, we would then have not 1 but 2 conferences that do not know how to count.
...throw in Fresno St. for a nice #, that way the Pac 10 can have a conference championship, like every conference in the BCS SHOULD have.
Is is too soon for college football talk?

Finally we agree on something! I think adding BSU and, as Vols2 said, Fresno State to the Pac-10 (12?) would make for a great conference. The 6 and 6 allows for a North and South Division too, like the Big 12 runs.
North Pac-12
Washington
Washington State
Oregon
Oregon State
Boise State
Cal
South Pac-12
Arizona
Arizona State
UCLA
USC
Fresno State
Stanford
My money would be on USC in the South, but the North would be fantastic competition.

If Boise were to go PAC, there could actually be a couple teams that may be able to take the leap, also. Fresno is one, another is Hawaii...they've been on the up-an-up as of late. What about Utah?
Im not a "Boise-hater", Im just a huge proponent of a hard strength of schedule. I think that's one of the things that helped Florida dominant a weak Ohio State (relatively for OSU)...that and horse steroids....and beaver tranquilizers...

You could also move either BYU, Utah, or Colorado St. in to the Pac 10. A few years ago there was talk that Colorado would join the Pac 10 opening a spot for a team like TCU in the Big 12. The problem is that the big schools do not want to share the revenue from TV with the small schools. Any conference change would also affect basketball, baseball, and other sports. Most conferences would like the revenue from the championship football game, but they are starting to realize that they can cost teams spots in the BCS. Boise St. takes money from other schools, and they do not want to lose that more money then what they have to lose.

I hate to admit it . . . but that's really funny.
Too bad the Galloping Ghost is not around to play for the Illini. Because of the talk about the Illinois football team, Harold "Red" Grange came to mind a while ago.
There is a funny quote from Chris Berman when he interviewed George Halas:
"I was interviewing George Halas and I asked him who is the greatest running back you ever saw. And he said, 'That would be Red Grange.' And I asked him if Grange was playing today, how many yards do you think he'd gain. And he said, 'About 750, maybe 800 yards.' And I said, 'Well, 800 yards is just okay.' He sat up in his chair and he said, 'Son, you must remember one thing. Red Grange is 75 years old.'"
That was from http://espn.go.com/sportscentury/features/00014216.html

There is no chance the Pac-10 would add Boise and Fresno State. Those teams don't add any TV markets.
Some combination of BYU, Utah, or geographically displaced Colorado (moving over from the Big 12) would be likely additions should the Pac-10 ever want to expand to an even 12 teams.

I agree, but a conference championship would be sick. If they could pick up two big schools like a CU and CSU or Utah/BYU combo it would be nice and would just add another state into the mix.

My favorite comes from another Illinois alumnus. Anyone who ever saw him play will recognize that this was not said in jest:

As far as TV markets go:
55. Fresno
118. Boise
120. Eugene
No rank: Pullman, WA
