This is lame. On a particularly cold day, my football coach told the team to put our hands down our pants on the sideline because it was the best place to keep them warm. There was nothing sexual about that or what the bball coach did. If he anything reprimand him but he keeps his job. I think that if this happened in any other country than the United States Esq., there would be no story.

Shoot, I just spent 14 hours on an Air New Zealand flight with folks watching all sorts of nudity in movies on the same plane as small children. One of the movies was a Kiwi flick about a nudist colony for crying out loud! Never would happen in the States because everyone is so dang prude and hyper sensitive.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't right wing nut-jobs, particularly Bill O'Reilly, leading the charge against so-called secular progressives because they such a blase attitude towards such things as you have described above? These Kiwi flicks are causing America's moral character to decay and I am going to do everything I can to stop it.

I don't know sohotrightnow but O'Reilly would probably be all over this basketball coach. He has consistently been at the forefront of the fight to protect young children from predators, i.e. Jessica's Law. The "victims" in this case were all 17-18 year old varsity athletes so I don't know if he would have attacked this as vigorously. I don't have a TV so I can't tell you but then you seem to watch more FoxNews than anyone on this board so you could probably tell us.

So my answer to your real question as I interpret it is no, I will not turn this into culture war issue. I think this is an issue of common sense being thrown out the window and a punishment that does not fit the offense. This coach was excessively punished so that the school could protect itself from lawsuits that are far too easily brought in our litigious society. Kids can yell abuse or rape and society assumes they are telling the truth and our teachers become the real victims. It has become the 21st century equivalent of yelling fire in a crowded theater. A friend of mine who is a long time teacher won't even tutor female students in his classroom after school to protect himself from false accusations.

For those that are offended or find it inappropriate, have you never had a coach tell the team to "Sack up!"? or play with balls? or something of that nature. Were you never patted on the backside by a coach or a teammate? Maybe these are passe ideas if not just a little vulgar but the point is that in no way are kids being victimized by their use, especially not varsity high school basketball players.
