This was Sony's plan for a while now. They were going to start with a small shipment to the US in November instead of postponing the entire first shipment until March. Apparantly they had some production issues and had to push their Japan date back to November which was originally supposed to push ours back to March. Whether it has changed any, I am not sure.. One thing I do know, is that could get pretty nasty at Sam's tomorrow morning, LOL.

I just got to work and its tent city outside. Apparantly they got here at 4:00 yesterday evening. It's cold as all get out and windy. They have some nice set ups inside thier tents though.

Give me a bit and I will have photos up.

It's ok though I have a contingency plan. Wal Mart by my house doesn't allow people to get in line till 8:00 tonight. there is hope yet.

And just to dispel any thought that only boys do this. This morning, I went to the location UofM Goalie noted was shown on the Mpls news last night. There were 6 guys - BUT ALSO 3 WOMEN (in that 22-27 age group i.e NOT MOMS) - that were camped out. It was 26 degrees this AM.

You are right on! I went to Target last night to just buy a gift card for my daughter, and there were several ladies camping outside of Target. Perhaps they were keeping their boyfriends company. Some guys commented in the newspaper this morning that they were willing to miss their classes. so they can get a hold of a PS3.

A friend of mine camps out for these things. His wife usually brings something like Taco Bell for everyone in line. As far as he has indicated, this is the only appearance by a female he's seen.

Can you explain what happend?

My backup plan is actually Wal Mart. The one near me won't be allowing lines till 8:00 tonight. So thats my best shot.

Wii update - Glover you are correct....pretty sweet system, really wish I had something to play besides Nintendo sports right now....the bowling and golf are pretty sweet...however - bustin out some of the older Gamecube games has been pretty weird...was hoping Mario Golf would work the same....not the case so far - didnt really have much time to work through everything yet....

It is ideal for a party enviroment - taking turns playing is the only downside - my 1 v 2 party this weekend will be a better judge - might be great to bring on the road with the guys to keep them entertained in the hotels.....(or give it to my bro at VaTech for him and the rugby minons to enjoy)

I still prefer the 360 - but this is still pretty cool.....

I can see Rob Graff bowling in the Holiday Inn already (hahahaha).....

I gave up.

Since having to work today obviously screwed me I had moved on to my back up plan. My local Wally World (wal mart) was set to have 10 units to go on sale. The cool thing was they are not letting people get in line till 8:00 tonight. OH but wait... They changed thier mind and let people start getting in line at 3:00. lucky me. So my scheme to make a quick grand is down the crapper. So much for that. Corbin i still might be up for the adult beverages though.

On another note, I kind of saved a life today involving a PS3. The rep who came in to set up our PS3 display today had... well complications. The paramedic wasn't 100%, but he had a mix of problems from a surgery last week involving ulcers along with lack of blood, along with possible heart attack. So to toot my own horn, everyone else was walking right past him laying on the floor, they assumed he was just working on the display. While me being the good samaritan that i am stopped to see what was going on. Lo and behold 2 secs later i was dialing 911.

And one other thing on this stupidly long post. I played the PS3 thing once we finally got it up and running. For now I'm unimpressed. the graphics were just ok and the gameplay was mediocre. I am really itching for a next gen console and don't know what to do. I really wanted to wait till this time next year when i had a better tv after graduating and getting a real job. But now i may just break down and get a 360. The wii is tempting at that price point, but like we said seems more like a party system. Once i try the demo of the Wii i may end up hooked but who knows.

I'm over the PS3
