Global Warming....?

Non-lacrosse specific topics.

That is my problem with the whole global warming debate. Regardless of whether it is true or not, the fact is, we are depleting resources through overuse and pollution. Global warming has just gotten at the center of it as a political issue, so if you believe in global warming then you are a tree hugging bleeding heart liberal, and if you don't then you are a right wing corporate eco-villain. I work as an environmental consultant and get to see first hand both the destruction and protection of our natural resources. The key thing is we need proactive regulation to prevent the slow erosion of our resources, and the Bush administration has not really been on top of this. One thing is certain, without a unified, global initiative aimed at protecting our natural environment, we as a world will destroy it.

Well im the right wing corporate eco-villain...cuz global warming is beyond bogus. The rising and falling of the earths temperature is a natural occurance, that has happened since the begining. I mean i wish the earth had a thermostat that we could set.....well not really.

TJ you are correct that the Earth's temperature has been fluctuating throughout history but you are wrong if you do not think the rapid increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere is causing a warming of the Earth outside of the natural cycles that you are referring to and I referenced in my previous post.

It depends on what you define as the world ending. Our way of life is going to end in 20 years or less global warming or no, as world oil production drops.

Here is how I see it:

You believe in Global Warming: Do something about it....Buy a car with better gas mileage. In the mean time, turn down the heat and put on a sweater.

You don't believe in Global Warming: Save money and give less $$ to the likes of Hugo Chavez....Buy a car with better gas mileage. In the mean time, turn down the heat and put on a sweater.

Start with the man/women in the mirror....Trees consume CO2!!

Join the Arbor day foundation or give it as a gift: $15 gives you 10 free trees. My mom and dad loved that gift this Christmas.
