Yes, the officiating was horrible in the Alamo Bowl, and yes, there should have been off-setting penalties on the last play, and the game would have been over anyway, but here's a thought...if you don't want to lose the game, a) don't blow a 28-17 lead in the 4th quarter, b) don't commit three turnovers in the 2nd half, and c) keep blitzing, especially when the other team's offensive line hasn't blocked your blitz all night long. Michigan should have taken care of business and not had to rely on a last-second, 7 or 8 lateral attempt to win the game. Bad officiating or not, Michigan should not have lost that game.
Of course, I'm incredibly glad that they did. GO HUSKERS!
BOWL PICK'em
Who dat dun whupped sum miyami butt! I be luvin' me some cajun boys tonight!!!
Now the bad part (not really)....I'm leaving town in a few hours and will be away from "civilization" until Wednesday night, just in time for the Grand Finale, so I probably won't know who wins any of the games beginning Saturday until I get back just in time for the big one.
Happy New Year's to everyone. Be safe!!!

I just wanted to say congrats to all of you that didnt think Utah would win. Utah is an awsome team that had a young team and the problems that come with being a young team. but they still have great skill.

I would still pick GTech again if I had the chance. Given Utah's poor regular season record, new coaching staff, youth and losses to San Diego State and New Mexico in the regular season, they still seem like a terrible pick on paper.

Li = 6-11
L = 8-9
T = 9-8
CU = 10-7
CJ = 10-7
D = 10-7
N = 11-6
S = 12-5
F = 12-5
Sorry, I have been living it up the last couple of days and haven't had a chance to update.
Flak has made a run using Shrekjr's slump to tie for the lead heading into the stretch.
If I looked correctly, everyone except Li and L still has a chance to win. It will be hard for me to win but I have enough picks that differ from the leaders that I am mathematically in the hunt.

Ah well, we've hit a cold streak of late and I likely won't win the bowl bash. And of course I lost the beauty contest too! Probably had a slimmer chance there.
As a follow-on to the end of the Mich/Husker game - at the end of the first half of the NU/UCLA game (yes, I was feeling pretty good when Northwestern was up 22 - 0 in the first! The same as when Spurrier's 'Cocks were up 21 -0. Wha hoppen?) Anyway, the NU QB threw a Hail Mary as time expired and it was caught at the 9, looking like the quarter was over. However, there was a roughing the passer call, which they declined, but were still able to take the completion and get another play from the nine, even though time was expired. Instead of taking a gift field goal (they were trailing 29-22 at that point), they went for the TD on a fade route and failed. Doh!
I thought the sequence was interesting though, I've never seen that before.

They had already missed two extra points and had a field goal blocked, so I am guessing Randy Walker wanted to try a new route.
Of course, it did not work out. But hey, that's why they pay Randy Walker big money to make those decisions...

i think that made certain GTech wouldnt win was the fact that they didnt want to be there. yeah I didnt think it would have the result it did and im a huge fan of the UofU.
