Paris Hilton released from jail because she won't eat her jail food. So what lesson did she learn from this? Cause a big enough stink and eventually you get your way?

I almost posted this. Honestly this is so lame. Martha Stewart does 5 months in prison and when she gets out says the biggest thing she missed was lemons. Paris Hilton can't even hack a week in jail. Why even sentence people if you are just going to let them off. Unfortunately, this will probably have zero effect on the mindless idiots that look up to her.

She showed up shortly before midnight and they credited her an entire day of being in jail. Yeah, 10 minutes is close enough to a full day. Just when I think that one of these dolts is going to be made an example out of, some hack official has a change of heart and lets the poor girl go because she's not eating her prison grade rice. Wow, what a let down.

I think a more fulfilling punishment for her would be one week in a third world country and actually interacting with the residents. Maybe that would put things in perspective for my favorite internet star.

At least Letterman will get two nights of good jokes out of this.

The priciple stipulation in this sentence has to be that no cameras or reporters could be present.

There are times that in life that I wished we had Saudi Arabia's legal system. Now is one of those times.

Maybe when she kills somebody next time she is hammered and driving she may serve an entire week.

Hell, I may as well commit armed robbery, starve myself, and then spend the next 20 years at home watching Maury Povich. Doesn't sound so bad actually. When are we going to start applying the same rules to the rich as we do to the poor? This is a travesty beyond words. It doesn't surprise me at all, but I blew a fuse when I saw this news. I wonder how many poor, black women who committed the same crime are allowed to go home for the rest of their sentence because they are suffering from a medical condition?

What a capital C word.

Guess a little fame and $$$$$$$ isn't so bad if you have it...

On a TOTALLY unrelated note, the L.A. police just got a fleet of brand new Mercedes and Corvette chase cars, funded by "some cash they overlooked" before.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Who has the ultimate decision to make for this? A judge?

Instead of 23 days in jail, she gets 45 home arrest? Basically the same if you ask me.

House arrest for her is like a resort vacation for most! This is one of her closets.

The L.A. Country Jail has 300-thread count sheets? Catered food? Unlimited phone calls? Etc...

its not much of the judge to blame for this but more the sheriff. They have control of the jails. You think they would be more harsh because they are the ones pulling her over.

Stay tuned...

The judge orders Paris Hilton back to the courtroom at 9 am PDT. The current talk is that she may be ordered to go back to jail.

Jeesh, after looking at those furnishings, I'd rather have the jail cell!
The thing that really gets me is that all of this just serves to provide her with even more celebrity publicity points. Her agent has to be rubbing his hands in glee over all this.
It would be interesting to be at that hearing this morning, to see what excuse the sherrif's department gives for letting her out.

One thing to keep in mind though. For a lot of us common citizens it would not be unusual at all to just be put on a bracelet, given the cost of incarceration. I have a friend who had his license revoked for DUI and then proceeded to get caught driving (he had an expired tag on his plate). He served a few weekends in the Hotel Jail, but then was released and had to go in on a regular basis and pee in the jar to make sure he wasn't drinking.

The good thing is we'll always have the Paris video! It's how she looks best...

Back in the slammer... the whole 45 days.

Maybe for once it would've helped her career to keep her mouth shut (ding!)
