Go Badgers...
The gophers surely have the roughest and toughest region to come out of to make it to the Frozen Four. SHould be an excellent tourney!

We've had DU tickets in my family for 41 years...no one wants Carle to win the Hobey more than me, but I've got to believe Potulny's 4-goal night vs. St. Cloud may have won him the Hobey. Best of luck to Carle with San Jose...reports in Denver say he might suit up with week in St. Louis.
My money is on UND, if Parise stays hot...Oshie and Toews have been outstanding over the past 4 weeks.

I just read a very thrilling article from ESPN.com that Wisconsin finally defeated Cornell, 1-0 in 3 OT's. David McKee (hails from Texas) had 59 saves while his Wisconsin counterpart had 40 saves. I read that the Wisconsin head coach said that it was truly an exhibition of two excellent goaltenders.

I'm betting that Wisconsin's goalie Brian Elliot gets the Hobey Baker this year... Wisconsin dropped half of all of their total losses when he was injured earlier in the year, and lost 5 of 8 WCHA games. He's on a 12 1/2 period shutout, let in 6 goals in 8 games, and after his showing on Sunday, in my opinion he's the best choice.
The funny thing is, Elliot was almost unheard of in the last couple years because of Wisconsin's old goalie Bernd Bruckler.
Anyone else want to chime in?

I would not be surprised that Cornell will be back next year since the team roster shows only 6 seniors. They have two seniors who are twins from Canada. David McKee, by the way, is a junior. There are a lot of juniors sprinkled with several sophomores and freshmen on the Big Red team.

The biggest problem for Cornell would be if McKee left before his senior season. He was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award last season and didn't have quite the same numbers this year (22 wins vs. 27 wins in '05, 2.08 GAA vs. 1.24 GAA in '05).
He's a junior and is a free agent. With goaltending always at a premium, I could see an NHL team trying to get him tied up before next fall.
I would imagine North Dakota will be the pre-season #1 going into next season with Minnesota a very close second (depending on which guys leave early - Potulny, Irmen and maybe Kessel).
