Hell yeah. I saw the Truckers in August when they were touring for 'A Blessing and a Curse' for my second time ... they're one of my favorite bands. I'll suggest them to anyone who likes rock, country, or anything. They kick ass.

Stewart & Winfield is good, too, if you like the southern rock gig. And if you're from GA or go to UGA, you already know how great Widespread Panic is.

Three name superstar: David Allen Coe. Older than dirt but still great to see live.

As far as pump up songs, classic rock is what I stick with...

Led Zep
AC/DC
The Who
Boston

You get the picture. Enough of this crap emo and softcore punk stuff... it all sounds the same to me.

So, bringing an old thread back...

I just discovered a band called "The Fall of Troy" and they're pretty incredible. Their incredible musicians technically, and unlike most prog bands, write decent songs as well.

i did grab the Dustin Kensrue album - the lead singer for thrice, if you like folk songwriters, its very good, very different than anything else he has done as well....

Bump

It's springtime, and time to change my CD changer from winter music to summer music. Anyone have any suggestions to check out? And none of this emo garbage please...

The new Bright Eyes CD is pretty great. It gets a little too country-ish at times for my tastes, but I give Conor a pass on that because it's, as I said, pretty great.

Bloc Party's "A Weekend In The City" is a good CD. I really like Of Montreal. One of my friends told me the new Modest Mouse CD is very good.

I've heard some of Bjork's new stuff, and I like it. For anyone who's a Bjork fan, she'll be on Saturday Night Live tonight.

I don't listen to hip-hop/rap that often anymore but the new Timbaland is decent. Tons of appearances by other artists including Elton John.

As for my "emo crap" that I listen to:
