Gulf Coast Charter Fishing

Postby Adam G on Fri Jan 26, 2007 6:03 pm

I'm planning a buddy's bachelor party, and he has one request: take a deep sea charter to do some big game fishing. Being a lake and stream angler, I'm hoping some of you have taken a trip like this and can give some insight/suggestions as to what to look for.

Right now, we're entirely open as far as location and weekend, so long as it's in May sometime. It'll be about 8-10 guys, so split into two boats, probably a 8-9 hr trip. Thanks!

the question is where??? I have a great hookup on alaskan charters, or even deep sea in NC....let me know , ive done about 20 trips....its awesome, but you need to pace yourselves when "sipping on soda" - remeber, your on a boat.....your playing with hooks, and most importantly....drinking greatly hinders your swimming ability (just ask my uncle bob, god bless his soul.....)

The last part was a joke.....

But they are a great time!!!!

He wants to do gulf coast, but if you know of a really good spot on the atlantic coast, it'd be worth considering. I've never planned one of these before, so like i said any input is helpful.

I'd suggest going after sailfish/Marlin off the shores of Cabo San Lucas. Great place to have a bachelor party.

My brother runs a fishing charter business in Long Island Sound. That isn't the gulf coast, but if you contact him, he may be able to point you in the right direction. His website is http://www.fishingct.com

Isn't the guy they modeled Quint in Jaws off of up there? I think he doesn't hunt any more though.

This is the absolute truth! I've been on some great fishing/bachelor party trips to Cabo. Check out the Solmar fleet.

If not, check with the Minnesota Vikings travel agent. I hear they have awesome pleasure cruises.
