Say what? Vols AD asks fans to clean up language

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton scolded students for "embarrassing language" yelled during a home game against Alabama and asked them to use "good judgment" in selecting cheers.

Hamilton wrote a letter to the student newspaper, The Daily Beacon, and sent an e-mail to fans on about the issue.

After watching the 60 Minutes interview with Charlie Weiss and listening to his "colorful" language on the sideline, I wonder why the NCAA hasn't instituted the same unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for language that we have in lacrosse?

Seems a little contradictory. Here he's letting F-bombs fly right in the Side Judge's ear, and we're supposed to penalize guys for 1 min NR if they do the same.

Do you think this is hypocritical?

We lacrosse players are expected to have a little more class. Especially considering we are all privileged white boys who went to prep schools on our way to fortune on Wall Street.

I would continue but my driver just arrived in the Bentley to take me to tea...

You joke, but this is essentially what a Division 1 roster is (and even Division III to an extent in certain conferences).
