I think it's fair to also say that I never try to save face.

Slimeballs, huh? So if you were being assaulted or robbed, you would call out for help to who? A passer-by? A personal security force? I think not.

You seem to have no appreciation for the fact that police officers have probably the most difficult job around dealing with the all of the things that none of us care to deal with. However, the expectation is that it is that they will deal with it and preferably not bother us with the dirty underbelly of their job.

My view is that people who voluntarily serve in the police force or armed forces deserve our admiration and support, not callous disrespect as you would have it. Just one man's opinion.

I respect your opinion. Mine just happens to differ from yours. I have 2 cousins who are NYC cops and I have shared my views with them and they also respectfully disagree. I would be careful when using the word "voluntarily" when describing the decision of an individual to become a police officer. They don't exactly make chump change.

I don't get it. Are you saying that your cousins are slimeballs and that they think that other cops and themselves should be objects of disrespect and hate? You're going to need a bigger shovel to dig yourself out of the hole you're putting yourself in.

For the job that they are asked to do, policemen don't earn near what they should be paid. They go out every day knowing that it is possible that they will be in harm's way. Is there another job, other than being in the armed forces and firefighters, where that is a potential every day they don their uniforms? And yes, they do this.... accepting the inherent risk.... voluntarily in order to serve the public good.

I'm sorry, but you could not be more off base. For someone who proclaims themself to be very tolerant, this is Exhibit A in intolerance.

I think her problem with re-election was that most of her constituents didn't recognize her as the incumbent, either.
