Ring tone that adults can't hear

Hmm... CNN reported this and now I just read another article from Yahoo that there is a ringtone that the teenagers are downloading and using it to receive messages because they discovered that the teachers never noticed nor detected the ring tone.

I read somewhere in that report from Yahoo that the purpose of having ringtones were designed to repel teenagers, not to attract them. It sure backfired, so the question is-- will there be a new market to counter that in the classrooms? The answer would be obviously- NAH. Those schools will find ways to "ban" those cell phones and those teenagers will always find ways to go around that, etc.

For some folks, they will just say, "Well, they are just teenagers..."

Do college students do the same thing in their classrooms because they know that their professors have "aging ears"?

One solution for the longest time was buildings where cell phones do not work. I had that problem in college. I think the easiest thing to do is ban phones in the classroom. Why do kids need to keep their phones with them all the time. I would allow students to have their phones when we were in a study hall if they would agree to get their work done, but when it came time for a test then any phone out was mine. I would give them back, but it was clear to all students that phones were not to be used in school.

just about all cell phones vibrate and have a silent mode. there is no reason phones should make noise and disrupt class anymore.

During the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, an examinee is not allowed to have anything that beeps or alarms, including phones. If the examinee disrupts the rest of the test takers in this fashion, they are removed from the test. Sure enough, there was a guy whose phone went off. The moderators came over and collected all his stuff...he was booted. It was pretty funny, actually. $150 and 6 months down the drain because of his phone. Dumbass...
