I'm officially tired of Microsoft's Frontpage as an HTML editor. I like the WYSISYG editing capability, but I find myself tweaking the HTML code more and more (underneath the hood). Frontpage just adds too much junk into the code.
Anyone have any suggestions on decent & cheap WYSISYG HTML editors?
HTML programs?

I have a friend who wants me to try Nvu ("new view").... it is free and it can handle XML, CSS, WYSIWYG and color coated XHTML. Check out their website at http://www.nvu.com
I totally understand how you have gotten tired of Frontpage (for me it was Dreamweaver), let me know what you think.

The only one i've ever used was mozilla composer. I personally do it all by hand. It takes longer to get started, but it's more flexible.

If you qualify for academic pricing, Dreamweaver is not terribly expensive and, while it has its flaws, is clearly the gold standard of web design currently.

Speaking of HTML, is somone going to give up the secret to posting inline pictures? The BB tags don't work or I'm not doing something that the PHP is not parsing correctly.
BTW, I prefer Notepad even though I have Dreamweaver and a couple of others at work.

Use the IMG php BB tag. It is the 2nd one from the left above, next to URL. Practice your work in the TEST Drive forum.

I have heard about Dreamweaver and am quite curious to see how it works. I know we have some technical programs at Texas State Technical College Waco using Dreamweaver, and I have heard some students telling me that they love it.
I agree about FrontPage which really is not that effective.

Ok I'll practice there and figure it out. But I tried and just got the text of that code. Then I tried
I used to run an early version of this board at work so it's pretty pathetic that "I can't get this to do" as they say here.
- Code: Select all
<img src= blah blah>

I downloaded the Nvu software and will give it a try. I have been designing our team's page in Dreamweaver and it is good and bad. One question I have is how do you get your web page to show up in search engines? I have read through some of the info that google has regarding hwo to get your page on their search, but it doesnt ever seem to work. Any suggestions?
