Chris, I'm Canadian, this is what I grew up studying. Now, you try me on US college football and all 'll give you is a blank stare.

It is almost similar to us in the Southwest/South that we are rabid football fans (high school/college/professional). In Canada, they eat, drink, sleep and live hockey. Tim, does Don Cherry still rant and rave on the radio line about hockey?

Don Cherry still does "Coach's Corner" every saturday during hockey season on Hockey Night in Canada. Myself, I wouldn't be crushed if he took his tired old act and walked into the sunset with it.

and I think...

Pitssburgh Penguins
California Golden Seals

CORRECT:California originally was the Oakland Seals.

CORRECT:Washington is correct. Still need the other team that the Capitals came in with.
What year did the Islanders enter the NHL?

CORRECT

CORRECT:The team owner is a big Civil War buff (GO UNION!) and his favorite color is blue. (Still does not excuse the hideous logo and mascot.)

Okay, I think the team that came in with Washington was Kansas City, or perhaps Cleveland. And the Islanders then I believe came in in 1972.

Kansas City came in with the Caps. Atlanta (Flames) and Long Island came into being at the start of the 1972-73.

Vancouver and Buffalo entered the league in 1971-72.

Vancouver and Buffalo's first season was actually 1970-71.

One team was the 1988-89 Calgary Flames, 4-2 on games. I remember being frustrated by not being, as hard as I tried, to grow the Lanny McDonald 'stache in grade 10.

The WHA's Winnepeg Jets and Hartford Whalers. I noticed in Hartford, earlier this past summer, that they are remodeling the Mall in Hartford.
