Breathtaking pictures of Viaduct de Millau bridge

When doing research on the New River Gorge Bridge (Fayetteville, West Virginia), I came across another bridge called the Viaduct de Millau Bridge in France. It happens to be the world's longest and tallest bridge. I believe it is a cable-stayed bridge and was designed by Norman Foster from Great Britain.

A curious question if any of y'all have ever driven or gone on the Viaduct de Millau bridge. It would be so cool to drive on that bridge and looking all over the region in France.

When I looked at the first link, I thought, "what a cool curved bridge", not realizing the distrortion form the fish-eye lens. what I also found interesting is to look at the road it replaced, snaking down the bluffs and up the other side. Similar design to the Sunshine Skyway bridge and the new bridge in Boston, I like the simple, elegant design.

laxfan25, I agree with you that I like the simple, elegant designs of the bridges. Although Dave Adams' forte is photographing laxers in action, I am pretty sure he will do wonders with his camera if he were to take pictures of this bridge I am talking about.

It is really neat to see how a person can do with a digital or regular camera to do photography tricks.

The New River Gorge Bridge is also simple as I have it as my wallpaper right now.

The bridge in Boston you're referring to is the Leonard Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge over the Charles River, one portion of the Big Dig. What confuses me is that one of the big stories about that bridge when it was finished about a year ago is that is was the longest of its type in the world. Obviously this French bridge is longer. I wonder what is different between the LZBHB and the French bridge that allows Boston to still have that distinction.

Obviously the reason is that the people in Boston believe the world revolves around them! You mean there's more land beyond Cape Cod??
