I ask re-ask: Whatever happened to Charlie Ward?
How about Steve Emtman? Jay Graham? Steve Tanneyhill? Mike Bobo? Kevin Feterik (last see, in person no less, playing for Calgary in the CFL)? Britney Spears? Eric Lindros' supposed game? Babe Laufenberg? Danny Wuerfel? Barry Foster? Frank Borman? Robert Allen Rippy? Fawn Hall? Right Said Fred? Glen Mederios? Timmy Smith? The supposed greatness of Tennessee football? Mark Fydrych?
I could go on and on...

I would never forget that night when I walked over to an elderly gentleman's house because I knew he would be up and around. I would knock on his door, and he would invite me in to chat with him. He had his TV on, and there was a Detroit Tigers pitcher doing weird things on the mound such as talking to the ball and then doing a masterful job of winning the game for the Tigers. That was Mark "The Bird" Fydrich. I must admit that I was quite mesmerized with his looney performance that night when I was a young kid. I had to ask this gentleman to tell me who he was. That was the only time I saw him pitch that night, and the cameramen did a wonderful job of capturing the magic of the Detroit Tigers' stadium. Thanks, KnoxVegas for bringing up Mark Fydrich.

Being a BIG Tigers fan I had to find out what happened to Mark Fidrych. He really saved the Tigers ...butt back in 1976. The Tigers were doing so bad they had to close the bleachers section because the fans were harassing the players too much. Needless to say when they built Comerica Park to replace Tiger Stadium they repositioned the bleachers!!
He's retired from Pro Baseball due to multiple injuries. He's now living on a farm in Massachusetts with his wife and daughter. Here's the website with all the information. It's an interesting read even if you don't like baseball.

The Bird's nephew played for Nebraska this year. He is still making some guest appearances at a lot of places and appears to be doing well. His popularity has sky rocketed in the past few years.
I love how most people are talking about old school athletes. I grew up watching the NBA when they played basketball. I remember reading articles about Mark Price shooting free throws. I loved the NBA before about 1993. I cannot watch that crap now, and I love basketball. I also love the classic sports when players knew how to play the game. The uniforms were bland, but they looked neat. The athletes were local heroes, and they were involved in the community.

Babe Laufenberg is now a local sports anchor in Dallas (CBS). I think Eric Lindros forgot his game after his first concussion. Thats why he keeps getting them, trying to recover the memories.
peace.

Steve Emtman.... injuries derailed his career.
Cherokee Parks and Christian Laettner were overrated coming out of Duke. College hype aside, they've both had pretty decent careers.
And speaking of Parks, whatever happened to Cherokee's sister Corey, formerly of the band Nashville Pus.sy?

Granted he hasn't done much in the way of making himself a big name in the NBA, a 3-year $7.5M contract with the Rockets doesn't seem too bad.

Found two sites on Marc Summers:
http://www.geocities.com/doubledareweb/marc.html
http://viryours.com/ms
In both sites, Marc Summers came out and let the world know that he has OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder).
