I would agree that the Lakers are going to win big tonight - I'm hoping the Celtics might steal game 3 or 4. Don't forget that the league and network has a vested interest in having the series go at least six, and hopefully seven gamse. It's all about the Benjamins, after all.
I watch very little b-ball during the season. Watching the playoffs it's amazing that they do stuff in a non-contact sport that we would never allow in full-contact lacrosse! Some of the pick setting is vicious, and in Game 1 there was a play where the off-ball Celtic pushed his defender backward and then cut around the pick, and the defender had no chance since the guy was now in his way.
While you could cue up a whole DVD of questionable calls, I think NBA refs have the hardest job out there, and do a good job for the most part regulating a high-speed, high-contact sport. I'm happy to let them do it, thank you very much.
Go KG!

If Boston can find a way to overcome the Lakers and their home court advantage (they haven't lost a playoff game at home yet) in either game 3 or game 4, the series is over.
Boston fans sure have it good right now. Red Sox, Pats. . .Celts. . .unreal.
I just don't see the Lakers winning 4 of the next 5 games. . .maybe the ever-crooked David Stern can whip up some of his magic and get this series back to Boston.
We don't even need to get started talking about Chicago winning the lottery and getting the #1 pick. Luck? Maybe, maybe not. . .Beasley will be in Chicago the same way Ewing ended up in New York 20 years ago.
Maybe I'm just bitter that David Stern and his good buddy Clay Bennett have hijacked the Sonics and now I'll have to travel to Portland to watch NBA games.
I digress. . .

I don't really know who the Sports Guy is. . .
But I was right on about Kobe and game 3. . .tons of free throws (18 I believe). This game was officiated just as predicted. Home team gets the majority of the calls.
Look for more of the same in game 4. I don't know if either of these teams is capable of winning a road game in this series.

I actually think game 4 foul calls will be very even because of Tim Donaghy's allegations of the refs fixing the playoff game in 2002 (Kings vs. Lakers, game 6). True or not a lot of fans are buying in to what he's saying and the tyrant David Stern is starting to look like Roger Clemens to me. I still trust the integrity of the game, but you have to think that its going to effect the refs in calling a more even game (its human nature). If the Celts can steal a game in LA its going to be game 4.

About game 4, wow, just wow...
I think the media and everyone else can finally put an end to the Kobe and MJ comparisons. MJ would never have let his team squander a 24 point lead, which was at 20 points midway through the 3rd quarter.
This game was insane. At least now the Celts get 3 games, and 2 home games to pull it off.
