Never happens to me. Liberals like to brag about how smart they are and strive to add as many letters to the beginning or end of their name as possible, yet they can't even spell. Kinda sad. Liberalism is killing public schools and it shows on this message board.

haha, I'm sorry but your posts make me laugh. good joke. oh wait, you weren't kidding were you? oh boy.

Cliff, my counterparts in the refereeing fraternity are heartened by your support! Usually the booing is accompanied by comments such as "you are a blind, classless moron!"

I have no issue with booing, although the cascade of derisory whistling you hear at foreign soccer games is a welcome alternative. What I DO find really disturbing was the recent article in Sports Illustrated on the behavior of fans at college basketball games. Forget booing, we're talking about vile, disgusting profanity directed at the parents of players in the game. THAT really needs to be addressed.

Tex, the low public opinion of "Congress" is a historical truism, whether it is controlled by the GOP or the Dems, and no matter who the Prez is. The great irony is that the opinion is always of the Congress in general. When people are asked about their specific representatives (House or Senate), the opinion is always "Oh, he/she does a great job!" Hence the fact that incumbents in the low-rated Congress are re-elected at a rate of well over 90%. If we got to vote for representatives from OTHER states the results might be different!

I never liked Doug Melvin or Johnny Oates. I wish the Rangers had stuck with Kevin Kennedy as the Manager, but Doug Melvin had to hire Oates for their Baltimore connection. Remember Doug Melvin left under some bad terms. Everyone wanted John Hart, and we saw where that put the Rangers. The Rangers need a pitching staff. The Ballpark is left handed hitters park, and a left handed pitchers park. If they just got a staff of average left handed pitchers they would be amazing.

Tom Hicks could be the Daniel Snyder of MLB. I thought he made a good decision hiring John Hart as GM a few years back but nothing happened. I miss the mid-1990s.

Doug Melvin was the GM when the Rangers went to the playoffs (note that was the first, and has been the only time the rangers have made the playoffs Johnny Oates was the manager).

Doug Melvin was a build from within GM which brought about players such as:
Juan Gonzales - great power hitter had 180 RBI's in his prime
Pudge - Outside of Bench maybe the best defensive catcher ever

Now they are getting back to the build from within and have some great prospects in AA and AAA ball, and some interesting young players with the big club to start spring Training.

Fantasy Owners should watch out for (these are the players you may not have heard of)
CJ Wilson - very effective as the closer after the Gagne trade
Vicente Padilla - I think he is going to bounce back after a horrible year last year. He won't win 20 games, but he will be effective
David Murphy - left handed hitting outfielder showed that he could hit Lefties last year hitting .420 and this year is hitting the ball well.

Please note that Juan Gonzalez started in 1989 and Pudge started in 1991. These are not Doug Melvin players. Tom Grieve deserves credit for these players.
