Hey guys, I just thought it would be nice to get a list going of players to watch in Texas. Not only the scorers, but also the hard-nosed middies, and hard-hitting defensemen.
One of my favorite players at last year's tournament was Tyler Monteath of BYU. This year, of the teams I've seen, I'm looking forward to watching the following players:
Craig Sini - Goaltender, Northeastern
Chris Cook - Attack, Northeastern
T.R. Hoffman - Goaltender, BC
Justin Ashenfelter - FOGO, BC
Austin Gardner-Smith - Attack, BC
Brian Kinsella - Attack, BC
Give me some other names to watch out for in Texs.

Keep them coming! The more names we can watch for, the better our media coverage, the more familiar our scorers, and all this translates to better recognition of players for All-Tournament!

From the PNCLL watch the goalie play.
Montana has 2 outstanding goalies in Colin Connery & Dave Crosby, & Noah Symmington @ Western Washington is about as good as it gets. I got to watch Colin Connery throw a 20 yard behind the back pass on a clear during our Final Four, I hope they can keep up the good work in Dallas.

Clay Knope #22, Attack - UO

Kyle Tolzman #3 if injuries don't keep him sidelined, Defense - UO
Scott "turtle" Miller #27 might be the best positional player in the country as a FOS

Travis McCarthy #4, FOS - UM
Noah Symington #11, Goalie - WWU
Andy Young, Attack - WWU

I agree with most of these. . .but please don't overlook:
From Western Washington:
#4 Jake Schuit, one of the best midfielders in the league at both ends from WWU. He is a complete player an emotional leader for the Vikes.
#1 Mike Larson, a fantastic defensementhat really emerged in the PNCLL as one of the best-- he clears the ball incredibly well for the Vikings.
From Montana:
#12 Jake Bagley - he was injured for most of the year but was 1st team all-PNCLL in '06 and all-tourney at Nationals last year. This guy is phenomenal.
From Oregon:
#20 Ryan Warren - he is a fantastic midfielder all over the field-- a converted attackman that knows how to break down the defense and has great vision. I would not be surprised if he makes all-tourney first team. He's that good.

Hey great topic. I'm glad we aren't arguing who is the better player at certain positions and just getting names out of great players. Not only does it get players names out but it gets fans like me excited about watching some over games besides the team i'm pulling for. I'm really excited to see some of these players!

I never got the chance to see WWU play this season, that's why Schuit and Larson weren't on my list. Don't know how I missed Bagley and Warren. I have heard from those on the UO squad and those who have seen them play this season that Warren is way under rated and way clutch when a goal is needed, and he is a true team player by switching to middie because it was best for the team. Bagley has just always been a great all around middie in our league, no question. Two excellent calls by the good Doctor here.
The true test of a player's character is not how he wins, but how he loses.

Justin Hier and Mark Davis. Hier has serious skills and is almost unstoppable one on one. Davis is tenacious and has a great mind for the game.

A&M and others
I'll throw a couple names into the mix:
Nathan Tabb (M) A&M: Complete player. Quick.
Scott Knepper (FOGO) A&M: Deceptively good offensive player.
Jolly (G) A&M: Lefty that can get on a hot streak.
Travis Nelson (D) SU: Tough
Cole Claiborn (D) SU: Good all-around defenseman
