With the end of March rapidly approaching, and coaches getting an idea of their squad's chances for making the big show, I am starting to put together the National Tournament Volunteer team.

We have 12 spots total, with invites currently going out to select volunteers from past years. Even if I get everyone back, we have expanded the team size this year, so there will be spots available, and I wanted to begin recruiting now. The idea is to have the roster mostly set by the end of this month, so volunteers can request time off from work and we can purchase plane tix and confirm reservations by mid-April.

Volunteers would need to be in attendance from Monday evening's orientation on May 14th through late Saturday evening, May 19th. Most volunteers fly out early Sunday morning.

Airfare, lodging, breakfast, lunches, and some dinners will be covered by the MCLA.

We are looking for hard workers willing to put in long days representing the MCLA, who are experienced in running lacrosse games while maintaining focus and conducting themselves in a professional and impartial manner. It is an exhausting week, but a tremendously fun and rewarding one.

If you are interested in joining this year's team, know anyone who is, or you have any questions about the tournament or what is expected, please PM me, or email me at danmorris29@gmail.com.

Thanks, and good luck.

This is a great experience to be around the top teams and admin of the MCLA. This is one the big reasons we went solo on the MCLA. I ask that you consider this heavily- weather you are a coach or a player. We need the help and will work you hard- not trying to candy coat this. Wow, what a selll there....

There are a lot of people putting countless hours into presenting a great event and we need some people to assist with the scorekeeping, facility set up, articles writers, etc.....

I have done this numerous times and never regret a single time. We do have fun together as a staff, don't get me wrong, but we are also passionate about the event we are trying to put together and take it very seriously.

I would also hope to see some more B guys out there. That type of commitment is a good way to show your overall dedication to the B division and increasing the teams in the future.

Consider it.... and DO IT!

Ditto everything said by Dan and Ken above. It is a great event which keeps getting better and better each year. Consider it a fun-filled, yet difficult, "working" vacation.

P.S. I would plan to fly out on Sunday afternoon, not Sunday morning. I speak from experience! :)

One other note: The 12 spots I am filling are for game management and general tournament operations.

Sonny will be putting together his own team of writers and media specialists. If you are skilled in journalism, video, and web creation, I encourage you to get in touch with him.

Thanks all.

Bump. Need to keep this visible.

I still have a few spots open for the National Tournament staff. If you are a former player or a current coach interested in helping out for the week, please get in touch. I know some of you are holding out for that miracle upset or at large invite, but as teams learn their ultimate fate, if you want in, let me know ASAP.

Thanks.
