Tournament seedings are set...let the debate begin

I think the seedings look pretty fair, with a couple exceptions, particularly the UCSD/UCSB matchup. I am very shocked to see UCSB drop all the way to 10 considering their most recent loss was to UCSD, a higher ranked team. On the flip side, it is very difficult to beat a team 3 times in one year. so it may work to Santa Barbara's advantage. I also thought that Florida State would be a lower seed, perhaps in the 8th or 9th position.

UCSB and UCSD got screwed. Whichever one survives that gets Sonoma in the second. Its a rematch of the WCLL playoffs basically.

why did ucsb get screwed? Because they are a number 10 or because they will be playing wcll teams? Their record doesnt get them much higher than a 10 seed, maybe a 9 or so.

There are some awesome first round matchups.

Who would want to spend$20-$40,000.00 to go to Texas and play teams in the first round that they have played in the last two weeks? That is lame.

I think any team that wants to win a championship has no problem with a rematch

Oakland and Michigan rematch at nationals in the first round for the 2nd time in 3 years, if I recall correctly.

I don't think the other option is particuarly appealing either - manipulating the seedings (like the WDIA) to avoid conference rematches in the first round. There is no easy solution.

I've always thought that the chance to play for a national championship would make the trip somewhat worthwhile.

Have you even seen Northeastern play? Watching them in the PCLL tournament this weekend, if they play like they did on the Plano trip, they will give any team a run for their money.

A rematch against UCSD sounds good to me! Gauchos are raring to go!

I think UCSD would like another shot at Sonoma too!
