Ok, there are a ton of us on here from the DFW area. What are the smaller restaurants that you will want to hit up while you are back in town? I'm not talking about the big ones that everyone will want to go to (Bennigan's is something I am missing... mmm Monte Cristo)?
For my vote it is Esparza's in Grapevine. The absolute best mexican food that I have ever had. It is a place that me and my dad used to go to a lot.

Anyone else have a place they want to go to?

Bone Daddy's BBQ. Let's just say everything from food to service is much better than Hooters.

i was born and raised in East Plano, and my nod for non-chain food goes to a pizza shop called Napoli's in Plano. It's a lot closer to the finals stadium (which are in east plano/murphy) and has some darn good handmade pizza. I suggest everyone check it out during the final four stretch at the end of the week.

Yes, it was 2.99 when I went to Plano and it would always be packed during lunch. With that said, my dad informed me a couple weeks ago that they have bumped the price up to 4.99. Still a great deal but it is no 2.99 like the original deal.

yeh the 2.99 was waaay back in the day as i recall. hasnt been like that for years, but i remember the commercial and the jingle like it was on tv 2 minutes ago
"2.99, outta your mind..."
used to go there around like 10am or so, eat as much as i could, watch some games on the big screen, play a lil in the arcade, eat more...then sneak mass pizza out for later

I was in Florida from June to January this past year, and while I was there, there was a CiCi's, which was a new thing to me, that still had a buffet for 2.99. Trust me. I know.

i don't usually admit publicly that i have eaten at cici's but they have them throughout florida and they followed the same price increase as the TX stores.
