FYI, before all the skeptics come out, this place is AWESOME!!! there is plenty of parking. its a little closer to Russell Creek Park. The field plays very true and is smooth. its brand new (only 2 years old). they have a beautiful press box. its a really nice facility.

Awesome!

Completion: 2003
Capacity: 9,800 seats
Included in the Master Plan for Plano ISD's 120-acre "Murphy Site," this new sub-varsity stadium is the centerpiece for a large multi-facility complex. The stadium is a state-of-the-art facility with 9,800 seats, 8-lane track, press box, locker rooms, concessions, synthetic turf, and other ancillary functions. The entire master plan includes the stadium, a new middle school, a new sub-varsity high school, a district warehouse structure, related parking and athletic fields.

Towns, no. School districts, yes. This is very nice because it is new, but it is also very common among the big school districts in Texas. Not only is it used during the school year for football, soccer and track, it is also rented by the smaller schools as a neutral site throughout the playoffs and by individual groups such as USLacrosse and various summer track meets. It is a definite source of revenue for the school district.

scoreboard
Now that the stadium issue is resolved things are pretty much humming along.
Scoreboards are already set. Company is donating them.
Wireless internet pretty much done.
PA system pretty much done.
Bleachers are pretty much done.
Tents are ordered.
Generators set.
Massive Ice Machine.
Trainers, EMT, security, ticket takers.
All things game day related are being donated by sponsors. Balls, horns, clocks.
Kyle Harrison set. Jen Adams set. They are doing a demo on championship day.
The director is awesome. I should ask her to put an official update on here.
US Lacrosse folks were here for a walk through last week.

Weather
Reports are the temperature hit 100 degrees yesterday in Dallas. If there is weather like this when the tourney rolls around, I'll bet alot of teams will be publicly griping and saying they'd rather be playing in the snow at Blaine

It was only 102 today
102, but it was a dry heat.
Weather is supposed to break this week and get back to the mid 80s.

Funny you should mention this. I just finished (literally 2 minutes ago) watching a Discovery OnDemand special on a Super Tornado hitting Dallas. Scary stuff. Maybe it's a good thing I probably won't be attending this year.
