Gotta say, I wasn't expecting Westminster to be so far ahead after one half...

GV made a great run early on and constant through the second half. it just wasn't enough. Cameron Holding for GVSU was a mad man today, a one man recking crew. We knew he was thier guy and we still couldn't stop him.
They were very gracious in the tough loss.
I'm just extatic for our team. All the hard times were worth it.
17-10 Griffins over the Lakers for the DII championship.
I'm glad at least one Utah team beat the Lakers.

Westminster was one hell of a team. As soon as their goalie, who could play NCAA ball, stopped a shot, one of their middies was already at half line. Their transition game was amazing. They deserved that number 1 ranking all year. Great job westminster, hope to see you again.

Has it always been that only 1st place gets recognition for their national championship with a trophy? I think its sketchy that GVSU doesnt get something besides memories. no 2nd place trophy at nationals....

CCLA tournament was perfect. Player passes made the players feel like they were actually important. The trophy and award ceremony was perfectly placed. The trophy was 1st place was bigger than the nationals 1st place... just seems odd that teams spend 20,000 to come down to Dallas and all we leave with is pictures of us hanging out at T.O.s locker. ok so its not all that horrible.

So when is West bumping up to D1? When are they expected to go NCAA?

Why did San Diego move up to D1 after winning 2 consecutive D2/B championships?
They can be competitive in D1 (Simon Fraser, Utah, Mich State games), so perhaps that would be a good move?

Something like 25 goals in the tourney plus 107 points in the regular season and no All-America for Cameron Holding... interesting.

Nope, only memories for second place. Ask SJU about that the past two years taking back seat in the championship.
As far as all-americans go, congrats to everyone that made the teams. We all also know that there are many other deserving who probably should be up there but aren't. It is just the nature of the game.
A finals congrats to Michigan and Westminster for their tourney wins. Well played boys!

I agree, while I only played on him for a couple minutes, his absence from the list was pretty surprising. Not to take anything away from the winners, but I played against 3 of the 4 1st team selections this year and while they are all incredible, I didn't think that they were better than Andrew Webb who got 2nd team attack. Of course I have played against Andrew for 3 years and I only played against the other 3 guys for 1 game each, but IMO he is just as good if not better.
Of course I know that it is impossible to have perfect selections on any level, I think that a lot of the problems with the AA selections comes from problems with nominations at the conference level. There were several players who shouldn't have been nominated probably and several others who should have been. This is just my opinion but while I see the AA selections as a great honor, I don't see it as the be all and end all of MCLA's best players. I think it has problems [namely voters not knowing enough about players] but no suggestions on how to fix it.

I think the fact that he's only a freshman (I believe) might have been why he wasn't more widely recognized. Assuming he doesn't turn pro after this season he will be there in future years - he is quite talented!
