I keep thinking that someday The Lax will change his not so fashionable head wear. How many strange looks he must get as he walks down the street wearing his butt for a hat.

Sorry Sonny, feel free to sensor this post.

Now Scottie...that is funny! Thanks for the laugh. Scott, are you going to Dallas?

If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.

The only decent win they have this season is against Colorado, before they were playing their best lacrosse late in the season. If you consider the one goal BYU victory a big win, factor in how streaky BYU has been this season. If they had played that game the day before or after BYU probably would have won. The Cal Poly win doesn't count as a big game because its Cal Poly. They shouldnt be in the tournament either. Why the MDIA voters have this love affair with inviting undeserving California teams is beyond me.

To give UCSB a bid much less a tenth seed is ridiculous. How can a team that lost its quarterfinal conference tournament game be qualified to go over Utah, who beat Sonoma the eventual WCLL champ.

UCSB is only there because of they are UCSB not on the success of this season. And as I recall, its the 2006 national tournament, not last year, not a life time achievement award. UCSB does not deserve to be there.

I only hope that UCSD can beat them again there by showing UCSB's fulitity as a choice thus wasting a deserving team's opportunity to be there.

There are 16 teams selected not 65. The selection process cannot involve favorites, risks, last year's cindrella. If you ask UCSB's head coach who played at Princeton if he thinks his team belongs with this year's best programs in Dallas, he'd be lieing if he said yes.

This is funny...I needed a good laugh today.

Wow...I could be wrong, but didn't that same Cal Poly squad beat BYU this year? Nice argument!

And lost to UCSB, UCSD, Utah, University of Minnesota-Duluth, Sonoma State, and Arizona. Plus, beating BYU isn't a rarity, numerous teams did it in the early season, including Cal Poly, right? But I think it is safe to say that the voters probably used BYU as the common opponent in deciding Utah and Cal Poly, oh wait, Utah played Cal Poly and Utah won.

What was I talking about again?

Ah, Great Stiltskin, why isn't Utah in the tourney? CSU thinks they should be.

for all those arguing against AQ's, what about the argument you hear in college football sometimes. can you be the best in the nation but not the best in your own conference? now im in NO way saying teams like colorado or michigan shouldn't be at nationals. just throwing an argument out there supporting AQ's.

Give him a break, when you have your head down taping ankles and massaging calves on the sideline, you tend to miss important and relevant aspects of the game.

Alright I guess my little jab at The Lax has started this thread heading down a path of personal attacks. I will pull a "Preemptive Sonny" ask that we pull our collective heads out, refrain from personal jabs, and get back to the topic at hand.

And yes Dan I will be in Dallas. I get in on Tuesday along with Mr. Rueckert. We are looking forward to a great week.

Scottie, tell Dave hello for me and have fun down there.

As for the Utes..have fun sitting at home, like me, checking the scoring updates live because there's no backing into the tourney this year for ya.

Okay, I'll admit that was pretty low but I just couldn't resist...

But in all seriousness, the Utes played well enough to be there and it's a shame that either them or Cal Poly was going to be left out. If only Michigan would have just won their conference tourney we wouldn't be in this predicament.
