What they are calling turf in that picture is nice grass. There are fields in the grass areas. Where the soccer fields are located are nice fenced in areas with plenty of room for spectators.
Highland Park Stadium is located just a few miles north of downtown Dallas. The stadium has the new style field turf, holds about 8000 with both chair and bleacher type seating. It is the home of the two time defending state champion high school boys lacrosse team, as well as the new state champion football team. Very nice venue!

I like the shady areas, the close proximinty of the 4 soccer fields.
Are there bleachers, electronic clocks and scoreboards for each field at Russell Creek?
Does the pavillion sell refreshments? Will it be open?
Hope they can get the bleachers, clocks and scoreboard issues resolved in 4 months.
With the fairly large distance between Highland Park stadium and Russell Creek, I hope they don't
schedule any consolation games during the semi finals, like they did last year.

I just checked and right now you can get from MSP to DFW for under $250. Renting a motorcoach in TX would be a great option with this fare.

Seriously, it is a 16 hour drive max from MSP to DFW. If you drive like me well you could probably get it down to 12 and maybe less. Dallas is also a much cheaper city then MSP. Cheap hotels are plentiful in the LH area.

Check with Dan Dipert Tours in Arlington, TX. Not necessarily the cheapest, but very reliable and high quality vehicles. Used them for years and never a problem! Others in the area are Buses By Bill, and Central Bus. I'm sure there may be other as well.

The problem with that is:
1.) you'd have to make sure there is enough seats on that flight to accommodate your team.
2.) you would have to book those tickets now. And those tickets are usually non-refundable, so if you don't make it to nationals, you are screwed.
3.) That would still cost more then getting the bus if you consider that you would have to rent a bus or vans while you are down there to get around. Especially with there being two game sites.

It's also not 14-16 hours in a bus. Takes a day or so to get your legs back. You're probably not going to want to miss that extra day of school.
I'd fly.

This decision has nothing to do with the UMLL. It is unfair to characterize it that way as if US Lacrosse was trying to insult or punish them in some way. That is just not the case.
What it has to do with is addressing the numerous logistical problems with the venue last year. They have already been well documented by those that were in attendance last year. Apparently, their bid either didn't adequately address those issues or the organizers decided that the Dallas bid was the better venue overall.

I am not 100% sure if I think this is the best situation. Highlander Stadium is not a great place. It looks like a great facility until you have to go to a game there. I hate that stadium for a variety of reasons.
I really think they should have given MN one more tournament, but that is my opinion. We will see how this ends up though. I will probably expand later.

Want to explain any? I played there a couple times in high school and enjoyed playing there. Granted a lot could change in the 5-6 years since I played there.
