I see BC being able to knock off the 5th WCLL team, but I don't see that happening with Northeastern, Florida, Georgia, etc. Could happen with FSU though.

i'd agree with you there

Yes...they are all ranked, but ranked below them.

right, but catlax said that they lost to unrated teams, not lower ranked teams.

Georgia lost to Florida, who is ranked below them. Florida, in turn has lost to LMU, who is unrated right now and who also might be the #8 or #9 team in the WCLL. Comprende?

how accurate is that? i really don't know much about LMU and i'm still scratching my head at just how good-a-team my gators choked away a 9-5 fourth quarter lead to....

LMU did beat Stanford who some have mentioned as within punching range of being the 5th team at the national tourney from the WCLL

Stanford might be the 5th team in Nationals because they play in the weakest division of the WCLL, so they are almost assured a spot in the WCLL quarterfinals.

Some may argue that the WCLL North is the weakest division.

It is definitely the smallest.

That's not necessarily true. IF they finish as the #2 seed in their division, their most likely first round game would be Sonoma. That is not an assured spot in the quarters, IMO.

Hi guys...I know this is a little off topic, but could definitely have an impact on MCLA at-large bids from the WCLL.

Is the Central #1 team facing the North #2 team again this year or is it switched up? Thanks.

Yes, I agree that the North is the weakest overall division. Santa Clara, Cal and Stanford are all really solid teams.

I think you could make an argument of any of the following teams in the 7-9 positions right now in the WCLL: Stanford, LMU & Santa Clara.

That would be the QF game if they played Sonoma. They face Poly at home, and I don't see them losing to Cal, so they have a very good shot at winning the division. Should they win the division, and if they win that first round game against Chico or Davis, they are in the Final 4. I'd actually say that the North is better than the Central this year. No games seem to be guaranteed wins.

Huh???? The North is better than the Central?? Are you sure you didn't mean that the other way around?

So because team A lost to team B who lost to team C who lost to unranked team D, team A looks worse? That's some pretty convoluted logic.

It's not convoluted at all. It speaks to the quality of the team that you lost to. It would appear, that by losing to an unranked team, that Florida was over ranked, so your loss to a team that Florida beat looks worse. It's not that hard to understand.......if you want to.

...But BC also beat Florida, which throws a little bit of a wrench into your theory...

I understand your point, but I'm saying that looking that much into a loss is ridiculous. Take last season for example: UCSB lost to Utah, who in turn lost to Westminster, who in turn lost to UC Davis. Should UCSB's loss to Utah looked worse than it already was because of Westminster's loss to Davis? Funny I didnt hear anyone making that argument last year.....
