championship game tapes

Postby woulax23 on Mon May 21, 2007 3:04 am

Sonny if the Championship games were professionaly taped, which i have heard rumors of, is it possible to have dvd copies of them available for purchase on the college lax website? I know i would be interested in watching them and i am pretty sure there are at least a couple more groups up here in the PNCLL that would like to have sme copies. Just a thought

If it becomes possible to provide copies we'll make sure everyone knows how to get them.

Is there any final clarity as to what will happen with the footage that was taken? I've heard that it may be distributed various ways....CSTV, other outlets.

The film is going into post-production now. As soon as we have set plans for the distribution, we will let everyone know. A number of options are being explored.

Probably could sell the DVD on this site and make a profit off them that goes towards to the 2000 goal. Im sure this has already been thought of though.

This site does not own the footage. The MCLA does. Remember, this is a private website and not owned or operated by the MCLA (although I can certainly see why that's confusing sometimes).

One thing that only distributing via the web would limit is exposure to new markets and the "wow factor" that being it on TV elicits. Kids who might not know anything about the MCLA seeing that they can play on TV? If that doesn't have an impact, I don't know what would.

It would be awesome to get them on a TV outlet. Perhaps we could get it on TV and distribute it via download only. That would save overhead costs for the MCLA so they don't have to have someone be responsible for mailing out the DVD's.

We definitely need to get it on TV if at all possible though.

no doubt the csu - oregon game is something worth making available to all in some form whether it be televised or on DVD for purchase.

Sonny,

Will the audio replays be available on the website? I'd love to hear the call from the Semis and Finals...

Yep. Give me some time to decompress.

We will post the games, starting from the beginning of the tournament, in halves in the coming weeks.

Wow the thought of the tapes being available is pretty cool - I definitely hope that happens. I'm pretty sure almost every player in the game themselves, and their families, would purchase a copy.
