2006 USL-MDIA Championship Bracket Challenge
Sponsored by www.LaxShopper.com
Division A
Division B
I have started work putting together another Bracket Challenge, prepare to pick your teams. Don't know exactly when it will be open for votes, but stay on the lookout.
This will truly be a great test this year with major bragging rights for the winner, especially if they pick all 15 games correctly.
As in the past 2 years you will be asked to chose a winner for each game and the spread with points awarded for being within 4 goals:
5 Bonus Points for Correct Margin
4 Bonus Points for +/- 1 Goal Margin
3 Bonus Points for +/- 2 Goal Margin
2 Bonus Points for +/- 3 Goal Margin
1 Bonus Points for +/- 4 Goal Margin
For each game I propose we scale down the bonus for later round games, here is what I'm thinking:
1st Round: 20 Points for Each Correct Winner
Quarters: 25 Points for Each Correct Winner
Semifinals: 30 Points for Each Correct Winner
Championship: 35 Points for Each Correct Winner
I will work to also include Division B's bracket in the challenge, so study up on those teams as well.

Flag Down, technical foul, "excessive useless postings".
In case you haven't noticed the images have been getting updated as more info comes out.
Of course these aren't official, they are simply posted to serve as tools for people to get ready to make their selections prior to my opening the ballot box.
If you have questions about how the challenge will work, feel free to ask.

Feel free to post your thoughts on this, I am leaning towards requiring both, to reward those who really have a grasp of all the teams. Will there be separate challenges for each division?

I think they should be separate. B Division followers don't necessarily follow the A Division and vice versa.

I agree with CATLAX. I've had a hard enough time keeping up with all the A Division games. I don't think I could handle all of the time necessary to put together an informed B Division bracket.

Fine, it'll be separate, but I will plan to work in an overall prognosticator extraordinaire declaration.
What do you think about the points for this year?

Points look pretty good. Sure glad I did picks on point all year. Maybe I'll do better than last year!

Is there going to be an actual sponsor with a prize this year or is there going to be a promised one that never happens like last year (when I won)? I will refrain from using the sad face emoticon thing.
This year is going to be much harder to pick I think.
