Postby Tim Gray on Fri Dec 15, 2006 9:25 am

Hey everyone,

Trying to help Sonny compile a more thorough history of the National Tournament and results. If you could either post or email me when you team has been in the touney and how it did each year, that will help. Who did you play, in what rounds, etc.

Thanks

Tim

Isn't it ironic that the last 3 (what became the) MCLA championships have ended with the same score??

2006 (Dallas, Texas) - Colorado State 8, Colorado 7
2005 (Minneapolis, Minnesota) - UCSB 8, Sonoma State 7
2004 (St. Louis, Missouri) - UCSB 8, Colorado State 7
Falsehoods are well-told, so think for yourself...

1997

UCSB over Illinois
UCSB over V-Tech
BYU over UCSB

Offensive MVP - BYU attackman
Defensive MVP - Dave Winnacker UCSB

I have an old copy somewhere of the Lax Magazine article that has all tournament teams etc if you'd like more info.

BYU ?
BYU over 'Zona

V-Tech over SFU (this was a great one goal game, I think Fraser had only two or three players on their bench.)

Can't remember which teams 'Zona and BYU played in the first round, but I think 'Zona played Auburn.

'Zona was the #1 seed after placing second in the WCLL (DIII Whittier won the WCLL).
WCLL got the extra spot b/c the Northeast didn't send a team.
SB beat Sonoma in the WCLL 3rd place game. Came back from down by 2 in the last minute to win in OT.

I think UCSB played Auburn in the first round in 2001. If I remember correctly, the Tigers came in undefeated with the #1 seed.

Weren't the scores and results in the back of the program? If you need it, I can scan it and email it. Are we looking to fill in the seedings? Are we looking for losers bracket scores?
