How about having portable electronic scoreboards and clocks for every field and large bleachers for each field.
They had it in St Louis. Permanent scoreboard/clocks and huge bleachers.
I looked at the pictures of the Texas venue and I saw no scoreboards, no clocks and no bleachers.
This is nothing new. They didn't have it in MN and it detracted from the event.

I'm sure that scoreboards could be arranged. The fields look a little tight for bleachers though. That does kind of stink, but looking on the upside you could watch two games at once. I'm pumped that after moving down here the championships got moved down here. But it does mean I won't be watching to world championships, which were once only an hour away. I have checked out both venues since I've been down here and they both look outstanding. I think everyone should be very happy. Back to some of the earlier talk, I think you would have to put down a whole new field for it wo all be lacrosse lines in Highlander stadium. You could get Scots out of there though. Same way they do with any field turf, you role up that section and put down two new ones in it's place. Something thats easy to do if you are an NFL team but I don't think financially feasible for the USLIA.

I saw a game played in a dome where they used black to mark out the Lacrosse lines. Made it very obvious to distinguish the different markings.

Getting those lines painted over or te endzones repainted are a long shot at best. I mean it is Texas, and Highland Park on top of that. I think we should be happy that we are using the stadium.
it's a nice facility, but the rules are much different in Texas when it comes to messing with the football stuff.

With the field conditions now, please note that North Texas is having a drought. They are paying people to water lawns. Hopefully this does not interfere too much with their spring game. I remember Red/White at Lake Highlands being a huge deal.

Saw the fields tonight. I think everyone should be quite satisfied.

Is this the same facility that is right next to a giant power substation? Maybe near what is or what used to be Dr. Pepper Stadium? We used to go beat up on PESH over there in High School. REALLY nice fields as I recall, and if my memory serves me, they were within sight of PESH.
Anybody know what I am talking about?

Isnt the Dr. Pepper stadium the mini baseball field next to The Ballpark in Arlington? I swear I played some games there in my youth.

Given that the tourney is in May, and football isn't underway for several months, it would seem to be a reasonable request.
It would really be a shame to have the championship on a field with football lines all over it - it really destroys the visual effect.
Of course if the womens' finals are going to be in the same place you're going to have a whole 'nother set of lines issues!
Well, it seems the football fans in Plano are going to find out about lacrosse whether they wanted to or not. Seems as how the "2-day" paint the school district wanted on the football field is not only still there, but looks even better than the "new" hash marks that were painted for football last week! I saw it for myself tonight. All the lacrosse lines, as well as the USLacrosse logos, look like they were just painted on this morning. As I recall, extra money was paid to the company that installed the turf to let them do the lacrosse lines because the school district didn't really trust anyone else to do it. The turf company is blaming it on a lack of rain over the summer. I guess the fact that we've had 2-3 good rains, and fall football scrimmages played on the field, shouldn't have helped either? Looks like lacrosse will be on the minds, and in the eyes, of the Plano football fans throughout the fall season! Maybe that will encourage the use of the stadium for more lacrosse games.

shrekjr,
Per your post above mine, I wonder if Dallas Morning News sports section folks had anything to say about that or is it only coming from the folks in Plano? Just wondering where the chatter is coming from...

Nothing in the paper. The chatter was coming from the people in the stands tonight wondering what the lines were for. I know the stadium manager so I asked him what the deal was with the lines still being on the field and he told me the story.
