UCLA Men’s Lacrosse Assistant Coach Position


Los Angeles, CA Assistant Coach

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for assistant men’s lacrosse coaches for the fall 2007 season. The UCLA men’s lacrosse team is a virtual varsity program that competes in the MCLA. Head Coach Terry Riordan is accepting applications for a defensive or offensive coach. This position includes UCLA parking, adidas team gear and John Wooden Center Gym membership. This position is considered part-time UCLA employment. This position is for the 2007-08 school year, and, at this time, is not connected to full-time faculty employment.

Schedule: The team practices in the Fall Quarter 2-3 days per week October-November. The regular season starts in January and runs through early April. Playoffs run mid-April-mid-May contingent on qualifying. Practices during the season are 4 days per week. There are typically 9-10 weekend games and 2-3 weekday home night games. All practices are typically in the evening.

Responsibilities: The main responsibilities will be to assist in coaching their primary position, practice planning, recruiting, scouting of opponents, and other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; coaching experience at the collegiate level, strong communication skills and strong organizational skills. Experience with MCLA rules and regulations, fundraising and budgets is a plus.

Salary: $6,000 plus, depending on experience and availability.
